Project Snow is an ongoing untitled project. The latest downloadable version of the game (v0.2.0) is a Demo showcasing basic gameplay elements (e.g., player controls, basic NPC behaviour, time loop system and puzzles), the art direction and its technical implementation.

Thank you for testing this skiing game demo! Your feedback will help improve the gameplay, mechanics, and overall experience. Please play through the demo naturally and take notes on the following areas.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

Ski Controls

  • Basic Movement: How does skiing feel? Is it intuitive to control?
  • Turning: Are left/right turns responsive? Do they feel natural?
  • Hard Turning (Shift + Turn): Is this mechanic clear? Does it feel useful?
  • Speed & Momentum: Does the skiing speed feel appropriate? Does the physics feel satisfying?

Walking Controls

  • Movement: How does walking feel? Is it comfortable and responsive?
  • Mode Switching: Is it clear when/how to switch between walking and skiing? Is it responsive?

Player Interaction

  • Interactable Objects: Are objects you can interact with clearly marked?
  • Interaction Prompts: Do UI prompts appear at the right times? 
  • Items & Inventory: Is picking up and using items intuitive?
  • Readables (books/notes): Is the text readable? Does the flow work well?

Tutorial

  • Clarity: Are tutorial instructions clear and easy to understand?
  • Helpfulness: Do the tutorials teach you what you need to know?
  • Learning Curve: How long did it take to feel comfortable with the controls?

  • Story Clarity: Do you understand what's happening in the story? Is it engaging?
  • Time Loop Concept: Is it clear that time is looping?
  • Character Motivations: Do you understand why you're doing what you're doing?

  • Progression: Is it clear what you should do differently in subsequent loops?

Level Layout

  • Flow: Does the world layout make sense? Is it easy to navigate?
  • Path Clarity: Can you tell where you should go next?
  • Exploration: Is it enjoyable to explore? Are there interesting areas to discover?
  • Scale: Does the world feel appropriately sized?

Wayfinding

  • Navigation: Can you find your way without getting lost?
  • Landmarks: Are there enough visual cues to orient yourself?
  • Goals: Is it clear where objectives are located?
  • Backtracking: If you need to return somewhere, can you find it again?

Visual Style

Art & Aesthetics

  • Overall Style: What are your thoughts on the visual style?
  • Atmosphere: Does the visual presentation create the right mood?
  • Cohesion: Do all the visual elements feel like they belong together?

Readability

  • Clarity: Can you clearly see where you're going and what you are doing?
  • UI Visibility: Is text and UI information easy to read?
  • Contrast: Can you distinguish important objects from the background?
  • Camera Work: Does the camera provide good views of the action?
  • Post-Processing Effects: Do visual effects enhance or distract from gameplay?

Technical elements

Bugs & Glitches

  • Game-Breaking: Did you encounter any crashes or major bugs?
  • Minor Issues: Any small visual glitches, odd behaviors? Did you get stuck anywhere? Fall through the world? Did NPCs behave strangely or break?

  • Framerate: Did the game run smoothly? Any stuttering or lag?
